A Winning Combination

Our Academic Program Is Designed for Success

You learn business fundamentals and leadership while staying grounded in the liberal arts and sciences. This blend of courses provides you with strong communication, problem-solving, and people skills. And, as you combine that with internships, global opportunities, field work, and real-world know-how, you set yourself up for success in any professional path.

Our academic requirements are rooted in experiential and collaborative learning. You specifically take three courses (Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship, Socio-Ecological Systems, and Advanced Experiential) that provide real-life insights and perspectives on society, business, technology, and the planet. Combined with the rest of Babson’s curriculum and your chosen electives, you leave here career ready and in demand.

Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship

Launching a New Venture

You start your journey by launching and managing a business through two semester-long courses that span your first year, emerging with business management and entrepreneurial leadership skills that will serve you at Babson and beyond.

Foundations in Entrepreneurship: Hatch & Hustle

Foundations in Management: Organizational Behavior Lab

For January and Babson Begin: London Students*

As you take these courses simultaneously, you will explore entrepreneurial leadership principles. Specifically, in Foundations in Entrepreneurship: Hatch & Hustle, you will launch a venture (or “side hustle”). As you work in small teams, this course teaches you how to move forward when you don’t have all the answers. You’ll act, learn from what happens, and build toward something better—that’s Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® (ET&A™) in action! In the Organizational Behavior Learning Lab, you engage in workshops, simulations, and reflective assignments to build practical management and career skills.

Socio-Ecological Systems

Analyzing Our Interconnected World

Next, under the guidance of two professors across the science and social science disciplines, you dig deep into how people and nature work together and learn how to think in systems with an eye toward sustainability and social impact. You leave this class with an understanding of dynamic cultural, social, ecological, and economic systems and how to confidently identify your place within them.

Advanced Experiential

Solving Real-World Problems

You culminate your Babson experience through an advanced course of your choice that will involve a hands-on, semester-long project with a company or non-profit. You apply your business acumen and deepen your knowledge on specific topics through an organizational context, all while making an impact and learning on the (actual) job.

Go to our curriculum page to learn more.

*This class combination allows Babson Begin: London students to progress academically alongside the students who spent fall on the Wellesley campus. Both of these courses, which you take your first semester on the Babson Wellesley campus, cover the same academic content and strategic and critical thinking skills explored in Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME).

(During my internship with Ento Industries in Singapore), while technical topics from business analytics and operations management surfaced, the experiential learning and soft skills from FME were invaluable.
