Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services
The Office of Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services (SAPRS) is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed violence prevention program for Babson. Specifically, staff facilitate educational programs and also provide private intervention services, consultation regarding policy initiatives, and support for students who have experienced sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, and sexual assault/rape. The Office is also designed to provide holistic case management and advocacy regarding medical, legal, administrative, and academic options.
In all of our programs and services, SAPRS is dedicated to the following principles; advocacy, allyship, access, empowerment, equity, and engagement. By embodying these pillars, we play an integral role in overall student health and well-being.
Student Services & Programs
SAPRS offers free and confidential consultations by appointment or during our walk-in hours. Consultations can be used by Babson students to seek support or referrals, and/or to discuss concerns for friends, partners, and family members. Consultations can also occur over the phone. A core function of SAPRS is to provide holistic case management for students in need of on and off campus resources related to gendered violence and trauma. SAPRS can also serve in an advocacy/advisor role if a survivor is reporting through to the College (learn more about the Title IX and Gender Based Misconduct Policy here) or through law enforcement.
The College has many means of support for survivors, including the ability to privately and sensitively broker a wide variety of accommodations that uniquely meet the needs of individual students. Accommodations may be requested through SAPRS regardless of whether a student has filed a formal report. Accommodations may include, but are not limited to, academic requests, housing changes, and No Contact Orders.
SAPRS operates a 24/7/365 rape crisis hotline for Babson students. For more information on the SAFE Hotline, click here. SAPRS also serves as a consult in crisis cases within the established on-call system at Babson, in conjunction with Student Affairs and Public Safety professionals.
Education & Training
Staff are often available to build, collaborate, and implement programs that help educate and train our community around sexual violence, prevalence, language, policy, bystander intervention, trauma-informed practice, and more.
