Ryan Travia

Ryan Travia, MEd

Associate Dean of Students for Wellness

Ryan Travia joined Babson College in March 2015 as Associate Dean of Students for Wellness. In this new role for the College, Ryan leads the division of Student Affairs in the development of a holistic approach to ensuring student health and safety, personal development, and overall well-being. Ryan provides leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive portfolio that includes health services, counseling services, health promotion, alcohol & other drug services, and sexual assault prevention & response services. Ryan also serves as chair of the Campus Assessment, Response, & Evaluation (CARE) Team, and is a senior on-call dean, responding to student and campus crises and facilitating follow-up, as necessary, with a variety of on and off-campus partners. Rey Benschop

Rey Benschop, MEd

Administrative Assistant

Rey Benschop joined Babson College in the early part of 2016 as the Administrative Assistant for the Wellness Center. In this role Rey provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Students for Wellness and for the Wellness Center staff. Some of these tasks include managing the office phones, serving as a source of information and referrals, scheduling appointments, managing files and storage systems, and planning logistics for meetings/events. Prior to coming to Babson, Rey served as the program assistant for the nonprofit organization, Institute for Family Health. Rey holds a B.A. in Psychology from Moravian College and a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Tiffin University.

Counseling Services

Jan Holton

Jan Holton, MSW, LICSW

Director of Counseling Services

As the Director of Counseling Services, Jan serves as a liaison between Human Relations Service (HRS) and Babson College. Jan works collaboratively with Student Affairs colleagues, class deans, faculty, staff, and HRS clinicians to provide high-quality services that are both holistic and responsive in addressing mental health concerns that may be interfering in a student’s ability to achieve academic and/or personal success at Babson. She is responsible for caring for students experiencing mental health crises, as well as consulting with families, staff and faculty regarding student wellness. Prior to joining the Babson community in 2012, Jan was an Assistant Professor of Social Work, Associate Dean of Students, and Director of Counseling at Gordon College for 17 years. She earned her MSW from Boston University and her BA from Mount Holyoke College.

Lindsay Segar

Lindsay Segar, PsyD

Assistant Director of Counseling Services

In her role as Assistant Director of Counseling Services, Lindsay Segar works closely with Jan Holton to serve as a liaison between Human Relations Service (HRS) and Babson College. Lindsay’s primary responsibilities are focused on ensuring that Babson students are able to connect to counseling resources and other forms of mental health support that they may need in order to be successful here at Babson. She is the first point of contact for students who are interested in setting up a counseling appointment, and she also meets with students and staff regularly to provide consultation, crisis assessment/intervention, and to answer any general questions that they may have regarding counseling, mental health and wellness.

Prior to entering her current role on campus, Lindsay worked with many Babson students as a clinical psychologist at Human Relations Service where she has been on staff since 2011. Lindsay earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from William James College where she focused her qualitative research on emerging adult women and body image.

Health Promotion/Alcohol & Other Drug Services

Leah Berkenwald

Leah Berkenwald, MA

Assistant Director of Wellness and Coordinator of Alcohol & Other Drug Services

Leah manages and directs a comprehensive substance abuse prevention program focused on education, policy initiatives, environmental strategies, and intervention services such as BASICS. She also manages prevention and education initiatives at Babson addressing a number of wellness topics including stress, resiliency, sexual health, and body image. Leah also co-supervises the Peers on Wellness. Prior to coming to Babson, Leah did health promotion work at Cornell University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Leah earned her MA in Health Communication at Emerson College and holds a BA and MA in American Studies from Brandeis University and the University of Nottingham, where she studied the intersection of human rights and sexual and reproductive health.

Lane Bandanza

Lane Bandanza

Graduate Assistant

Lane Bandanza is the new Graduate Assistant for Health Promotion/AODS in the Health and Wellness department at Babson College. She is from Needham, MA and recently graduated from Northeastern University with an undergraduate degree in Health Science. For the next year, Lane will be working at Babson while pursuing her Master in Public Health (MPH) degree from Northeastern University. She is very excited to for this opportunity and to begin exploring the field of public health with everyone here at Babson!

Sharon Yardley

Sharon Yardley, MSN, APRN-BC, FNP

Director of Health Services

Sharon has been a Nurse Practitioner for twenty-five years, twenty of which have been in College Health. She graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors and Masters in Criminal Justice, and has a Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Sharon has been the Director of Health Services since August of 2006. She is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Nursing Practice program at Regis College. Her areas of interest are global health, healthcare for the transgender patient, and community health. In her spare time, she enjoy traveling, participating in service trips with students, photography, attempting to play golf, and spending time with friends and family.

Polly McCabe

Polly McCabe, MSN, APRN-BC, FNP

Associate Director of Health Services

Polly McCabe has been a nurse practitioner at Babson since 2011, and has been in the role of Associate Director since 2014. Polly earned her BSN from the Ohio Wesleyan University-Riverside School of Nursing and her MSN from Simmons College in Boston. She became a certified nurse practitioner in both Adult Primary Care and Women's Health in 1995, followed by employment in outpatient settings that provided adult episodic and primary care and ambulatory OBGYN services. Polly earned an International Society of Travel Medicine Certificate in Travel Health™ in 2014. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, golfing, traveling, sipping tea, and spending time with her husband, four grown children, and their dogs. She is also a First Year Seminar instructor.

Amelia Fournier

Amelia Fournier, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Amelia Fournier serves as one of four Nurse Practitioners in the Health Services office. After completing her Master’s Degree at Boston College in 2007, Amelia worked as a Nurse Practitioner for Healthcare for the Homeless on Cape Cod. Since returning to Boston in 2011, Amelia has enjoyed her time working with young adults at Health Services and recently completed her MBA here at Babson in 2016. Amelia holds a Certificate in Travel Health through the International Society of Travel Medicine.

Erika Redmond

Erika Redmond, RN

Triage Nurse

Erika Redmond serves as the Triage Nurse in the Health Services office. Erika is a graduate of Boston College School of Nursing and received her Master’s degree in Nursing at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Erika spent four years working at ULCA Medical Center after graduating from BC and also as a floor nurse at Georgetown Hospital while attending graduate school. She has also worked in Home Health Care and most recently as a triage nurse in a busy primary care office at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Currently residing in Wellesley, Erika lived overseas in London, England for two years (2011-2013) and when not working, she enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time on Cape Cod with her husband and four children.

Meghan Rosenberg

Office Manager

Meghan joined Babson Health Services in April 2017 as the Office Manager. She graduated from UMASS Amherst with a degree in Criminal Justice and then continued on to work for the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office as a Victim/Witness Advocate and then the Chatham Police Department as a dispatcher. Meghan started with the Babson Public Safety Department as a dispatcher and then became an officer in 2009. While with the Babson Public Safety Department she served as a Sexual Assault Investigator and a Field Training Officer. Meghan lives locally and in my spare time she enjoys going to the beach and travelling with her husband, two daughters and their dog.

Katherine Teixeira DaSilva

Katherine Teixeira DaSilva FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Katherine joined the Babson Health Services Staff as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2007. She received her Bachelors of Nursing degree in 1991 from the University of Rochester. She joined the Air Force after obtaining her degree as a Registered Nurse and gained clinical experience working in Emergency Department settings. In 1998, she earned her Masters in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Boston. After becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner and before coming to Babson College she obtained her clinical experience in family practice in Boston working with both the pediatric and adult population. In her free time Katherine enjoys outdoor sports, traveling and spending time with her family.

​Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services

Ashleigh Hala

Ashleigh Hala, MSW

Director of Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services

Ashleigh Hala provides confidential intervention services, consultation regarding campus policy, advocacy, and support for students who have experienced sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault/rape. Ashleigh is also responsible for the preventative vision and strategy for the college. The college’s prevention model includes a robust curricular experience for students, featuring bystander intervention training, guidance on responding to disclosure, and organizational assessment for survivor inclusivity. Ashleigh also serves in an on-call capacity by overseeing the Babson SAFE Hotline, a Babson-specific rape crisis hotline available to students 24/7/365. Before joining Babson Health & Wellness, Ashleigh was the Associate Director of Residence Life and the Title IX Coordinator at Wheelock College. Ashleigh earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wheelock College and a master’s degree in social work with a focus in community organizing, program development, and human services management from Boston University.

Anu Menon

Anu Menon

SAPRS Intern

Anu is an intern for Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services at Babson College. They are currently pursuing their master's degree in Social Work at Wheelock College. Prior to Babson, Anu has volunteered as a hotline counselor for the DC Rape Crisis Center in Washington, DC. They have also worked with the DC Justice for Survivors Campaign to give voice to the concerns of sexual assault survivors to the DC City Council. Their goal is to become a licensed therapist for survivors of trauma and people with mental health disorders. In their spare time, Anu enjoys facilitating social meditation groups.
