The Wooten Prize for Excellence in Writing



  • Only sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Babson College may enter.
  • The essay must be an analytical paper written for an intermediate or advanced level class at Babson College within the current academic year. The essay must be individually written.
  • Case studies, lab reports, independent studies, portions of honors theses, fiction, personal essays, and poetry are all ineligible for entry.
  • You must contact the professor for whom the essay was written and notify them that you are entering your essay for consideration for the Wooten Prize.
  • Only one entry per student is permitted.

All winning entries will be subject to verification regarding the criteria above.

Requirements for Submission


5 p.m., March 26, 2024. No late entries will be accepted.

  • The essay must have a title.
  • Remove your name, course number, and any identifying information from the actual essay
  • Submit ONE copy of the essay, typed and double-spaced, Times New Roman or Calibri font, size 12.
