About Babson's Youth Impact Lab

How the #1 School for Entrepreneurship Empowers Youth

Who We Are

The Youth Impact Lab brings the resources of Babson College, ranked #1 in entrepreneurship 28 consecutive times according to U.S. News and World Report, to educators and professionals teaching entrepreneurship to youth. In addition, we have more than 10 years' experience working directly with youth, empowering them to become entrepreneurial change agents and leaders. We harness our resources by teaching educators how to deliver our entrepreneurship curriculum, EPIC (Entrepreneurship Program for Innovators and Changemakers), Babson’s flagship program for teaching entrepreneurship to middle and high school students

SDGs

Rooted in the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals

We help educate youth to be entrepreneurial leaders who create economic, social, and environmental value. Our learning solutions encourage youth from the U.S. and abroad to see obstacles as opportunities—showing them that they can become change makers and design their own future.

Why We Do This Work

As research from the United Nations World Youth Report has indicated:

  • Successful entrepreneurial projects are run by people who demonstrate creativity, resilience, inspiration, risk tolerance, and action orientation
  • Social entrepreneurship is most effective when the opportunity and approach is informed by local insight
  • When provided with the right mindset and framework, young people are best positioned to help solve problems that impact their peers, community, and themselves
  • There is a strong correlation between situation-specific support from established institutions and the impact of social entrepreneurship

Our programs and resources are built to specifically address each one of these insights. Learning is always action-oriented, situation-specific, localized, and approached from the type of entrepreneurial mindset that frees students from mental barriers and unlocks their creativity.

An entrepreneur is someone who is ready to make a change, solve a problem, or help others...to make a change in his life or that of others. I think we are all entrepreneurs, only we discovered it at different times in our lives. I discovered it this year thanks to the EPIC program.
