Creative Arts & Media

Explore creative arts and media through a liberal arts and entrepreneurial lens, developing the storytelling, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills that fuel business creativity, support innovation and creativity in business, and help ideas connect with audiences and communities.

The creative arts and media concentration at Babson College is designed for students interested in exploring art and media as powerful forms of storytelling. Through coursework in film, music, theater, creative writing, visual arts, and media studies, students examine how creative expression shapes culture, influences ways of seeing the world, and helps people make meaning of their experiences. Students explore how creative expressions contribute to culture and society, examining the ideas and perspectives that shape artistic and media production.

Through courses in areas such as film, literature, media, and the arts, you’ll explore the creative choices, historical contexts, technologies, and storytelling techniques that shape how ideas are expressed and understood. This foundation helps you build strong analytical, communication, and creative problem-solving and writing skills while gaining insight into the role of culture and creativity in society and organizations.

As a creative arts and media program, this interdisciplinary experience combines the study of creative works with entrepreneurial thinking, making it distinctive among creative media education opportunities and creative arts concentration options.

Where the Creative Arts & Media Concentration Will Take You

This concentration helps students build the analytical, creative, and communication skills valued across a wide range of industries and professions. This concentration builds strategic, analytical, and industry‑ready skills from day one.

Students interested in creative entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and arts, or entrepreneurship and media gain a foundation that connects creative inquiry with entrepreneurial problem-solving and leadership. Rather than a traditional arts or media degree, Babson offers a creative arts and media concentration within its undergraduate business curriculum—an option also for students interested in creative business degrees, the business of creative industries, and the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurship.

This approach encourages students to study creative works alongside entrepreneurial thinking, helping them understand both the artistic and societal impact of creative expression while developing versatile professional skills such as creative writing, presenting, and critical thinking.

Students who pursue this concentration develop skills that extend beyond creative production and prepare them to contribute thoughtfully to organizations where creativity, communication, storytelling, and audience understanding are essential.
