MBA Concentrations

MBA in Business Analytics

A concentration in business analytics gives you the skills you need to make data-driven decisions throughout your career. Course work in data management and data analytics ensures students in the MBA analytics concentration are exposed to a range of techniques and tools.

Where Will an MBA Analytics Concentration Take You?

Research from the McKinsey Global Institute reveals that data-driven organizations are 23 times more likely to acquire customers, 6 times as likely to retain customers, and 19 times as likely to be profitable as a result. Employers of all sizes, in all industries, know that now is the time to get smart about data. MBA analytics graduates often pursue careers as analysts, contributing to the decision-making and leadership teams within their organizations.

Over the course of your MBA data analytics concentration, you will cover topics such as data science, business intelligence, data visualization, and programming. You will also apply the analysis skills you learn to industries such as finance, healthcare, and marketing.

Tom Davenport

The AI Advantage

Professor Tom Davenport teaches an Artificial Intelligence for Business course and says that if you really care about the success of your business, the time to pursue AI technology is now.

The data analytics courses I took all emphasized how important it is to frame the analytics process within a business decision and outcome first, instead of just looking at the data and trying to find a story.
