In 2011, John Butler ’52, P’84, and his wife, Alice P’84, made a generous gift to support the Butler Launch Pad Program for entrepreneurs. While at Babson, John not only met Alice (a student at nearby Wellesley College), he gained the entrepreneurial tools that enabled him to grow Cottingham & Butler, the insurance business founded by his great-grandfather in 1887, from three to more than 500 employees across the country.
The Butlers are proud to support new entrepreneurs in growing their businesses. “We believe entrepreneurship has a positive impact on society,” says John Butler, “and we are delighted to help cultivate it among today’s students.”
