C. Dean Metropoulos Institute for Technology and Entrepreneurship (MiTE) spans the industrial tech ecosystem.

This includes consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, IT, and finance. And this focus fuels breakthroughs in fields like CleanTech, Cybersecurity, FinTech, HealthTech, Industry 4.0, QuantumTech, and other emerging technologies.

These innovations arise from campus creativity, scaled through MiTE’s later-stage accelerators and mature-startup pitch competitions. Using AI, data-driven decision-making, and bold experimentation, we enhance technological literacy and explore the value and risks of human-AI integration, preparing leaders to navigate its societal impact.

MiTE redefines entrepreneurial leadership—honed at Babson for over 100 years—to solve complex challenges where traditional models falter. Outward-focused, MiTE builds deep partnerships with tech institutes worldwide. As part of The Arthur M. Mission

The C. Dean Metropoulos Institute for Technology and Entrepreneurship will bolster Babson’s leading entrepreneurial education into the leadership ranks of technology and AI. The Institute will support and expand curricular and co-curricular programs that amplify the importance of technological innovation in the entrepreneurial process. This will provide the Babson community with the space to dive deeper into the latest technological advancements, collaborate with their peers and educators, and determine best practices for use of these tools in their own careers and ventures.

Purpose

Founded in 2024, Babson’s C. Dean Metropoulos Institute for Technology and Entrepreneurship (MiTE) represents Babson’s bold commitment to shaping the future of business by integrating advancements in emerging technology and AI with entrepreneurial education. Housed within The Arthur M. Blank School for Entrepreneurial Leadership—a hub connecting the Babson community to global learners—MiTE stands out on campus with its focus on scaling innovation. Building on Babson’s century-long legacy, MiTE leads in emerging tech and AI, equipping students, staff, faculty, and alumni to transform industries and drive purpose-driven change, while addressing the societal risks of emerging tech.

Dean Metropoulos ’67, MBA’68, a renowned entrepreneur known for reviving iconic consumer brands. Metropoulos’ vision for the Institute centers on preparing future leaders to harness the power of technology and AI in entrepreneurial ventures while addressing global challenges like sustainability and inequality. His passion for innovation and responsible leadership will guide the Institute’s mission to explore the role of technology in shaping industries, improving lives, and solving critical issues facing society today.
