Courteney Smith (she/her/hers) teaches modern European history at Babson College. A historian of Britain and Europe, she has previously taught courses on modern Europe, nineteenth and twentieth century Britain, and the world wars at Boston University. She is completing her PhD at BU, where her dissertation asks when and how ideas about local and national identity shaped Britons' participation in the women's movement. She was co-chair of the Graduate and Early Career Researcher Caucus of the North American Conference on British Studies from 2022-2023. She holds an MA in History from University College London (2017) and a BA in History and Literature from Harvard College (2013).
