Dr. Farbod Farhadi is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Babson College. He received his Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Isenberg School of Management. His research interests are applications of data science and mathematical programming in healthcare services, aviation and transportation services, and complex network systems. His research articles have been published in the European Journal of Operational Research, Health Care Management Science, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Computers & Industrial Engineering, and Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review.
Dr. Farhadi brings his expertise from industry where he held multiple positions including, project planning manager, and lead data scientist. In his consulting capacity he has worked with various public and private clients to build business intelligence systems using advance analytics and predictive modeling tools. He has lead multiple consulting projects including partnerships with the Rhode Island Department of State, addressing impact of COVID 19 on the economy, and outlining a 10-year business and economic projections.
Prior to joining Babson College, Professor Farhadi was an Associate Professor of Management and the Director of the MBA program at the Mario J Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University, where he initiated the business analytics program and served as the advisor of the RWU Analytics Club. He coached several groups of students to win championships in nation-wide analytics competitions.
