Academic Division: Management
Roman Terekhin earned his Ph.D. in Management from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from Singapore Management University and IE University, and an M.S. in Engineering from Moscow Aviation University. Before joining Babson, he designed and taught courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and HR management at the University of Colorado Denver and George Washington University. Drawing on more than 20 years of his own entrepreneurial and executive experience, Roman is deeply committed to helping students connect classroom learning to the complex challenges they encounter in their careers and lives.

Roman’s research examines how leaders and entrepreneurs navigate uncertain environments and, in particular, the role of their peers in this process. He explores peer coaching groups organized by YPO, Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Vistage, TAB, and many others, as well as peer groups formed within organizations. His award-winning research has been published in the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Group & Organization Management, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior Education, and presented at leading international conferences. Global organizations including the Institute of Coaching, the European Academy of Management (EURAM), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) have recognized and supported his work. Roman’s professional insights have also been featured by international media, including Forbes, BBC, and Xinhua News Agency. Before entering academia, Roman worked across several industries, including retail, information technology, legal services, business consulting, and executive coaching. He worked with Fortune 500 companies while enjoying working with small businesses just as much. For his work, he was twice nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Outside of work, Roman enjoys playing volleyball or settling in for a game of chess (depending on whether the day calls for movement or a cup of hot tea).
