Student Advising & Success

Our Mission

Through advising, we work collaboratively with the Babson community to empower, educate, and support students from matriculation to graduation. Utilizing a holistic approach, we encourage students to discover, explore, and focus their goals. We facilitate the process of self-awareness, decision making, and responsibility to drive student success.

What We Do

As part of the “ONE Babson” experience, Student Success Advisors strive to educate and empower students to take ownership of their educational journey, recognize and understand the interconnectedness of their academic, personal, and professional successes in order to make intentional decisions that optimize their educational experiences. Student Success Advisors collaborate with faculty and staff members in supporting students in self-exploration as they develop educational plans that include their academic focus, achieving their individual goals, and becoming engaged members of the Babson College community.

  • Advisors educate students about curricular requirements and how to assess their degree progress through graduation.
  • Advisors assist students with long-term academic planning including the pursuit of options such as concentrations, education abroad course planning, independent research projects, and cross-registration opportunities.
  • Advisors collaborate with staff and faculty colleagues to support students in their growth as learners, and serve as a resource for students on a range of personal and academic concerns.
  • In addition to working with students one on one, advisors oversee a number of administrative and programming responsibilities in support of students

The College defines academic expectations within the 2021-2022 Undergraduate Student Handbook (pdf), which is built on the foundation of our core values of respect and integrity.
