Founder’s Day, which dates to 1947, recognizes Roger W. Babson, founder and first president of Babson College, and honors his passion for entrepreneurship, education, and philanthropy. In this 100th year since the founding of Babson College, Founder’s Day will promote traditions, both new and old to mark this historic landmark for the College.
Founder’s day 2019 will re-introduce the beloved campus tradition of Beaver Bowl which brings together students, faculty, staff, and alumni for a night of trivia at Roger’s Pub & Grille featuring Babson history.
Founder’s Fest, which began in 2016, encourages our students to come together, enjoy good food and fun, and celebrate the guiding themes that were most meaningful to Roger Babson. Join friends, classmates, and campus colleagues for our Centennial celebration with the opportunity to appreciate donors, enjoy live music, games, and apple-themed treats in recognition of Roger’s fascination with Sir Isaac Newton and our Newton apple trees—the Centennial Founder’s Fest will feature a new campus tradition of the Beaver Tail pastry!
The Centennial celebration will also continue to highlight the transformation of the College landscape with the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Babson Recreation and Athletics Complex (BRAC). Throughout BRAC the community will see the College’s athletic history highlighted and varsity athletic teams celebrated, including a new bronzed beaver statue promoting pride for the Babson community.
