Thomas Cord Prinzhorn

Thomas Cord Prinzhorn, CEO of Prinzhorn Group, was born in Vienna / Austria in 1972. He holds an MBA from Babson College, Boston and studied engineering and international marketing in Austria and Germany. After several years of restructuring management and consulting positions in South America, Europe and the United States, Mr. Prinzhorn took over responsibility in his family business in 2007, becoming Group CEO in 2013. Since then, the company has grown from a 850M Euro to 1.8 billion Euro turnover in 2019. Specialized in corrugated printed packaging, produced from its own 100% recycled containerboard paper and collecting its raw material from local businesses and community waste, the business model focuses on sustainable environmental packaging solutions in the food and fast moving consumer goods industry to support local demand and export oriented customers.

In addition to growing his businesses and creating numerous new jobs, Mr. Prinzhorn puts significant effort in developing the communities around his more than 50 production-locations. Focused on environmental improvements and better education in his communities, the company gives local scholarships and funds technical education to allow easy and qualified entrance into working life. Multiple environmental initiatives to decrease land-filling of waste and community projects increase environmental awareness and improve living standards.

Mr. Prinzhorn is president of the Containerboard Association, board member of the Brussels based Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) and an active supporter of multiple international think-tanks.
