Jack is interested in how people learn mathematics and statistics and how emerging technologies, particularly AI, can improve learning and teaching. His work focuses on designing educational experiences that help students build intuition, develop conceptual understanding, and become more independent problem solvers. He is particularly interested in how AI can support students’ learning without replacing the thinking and productive struggle that are essential to the learning process. Jack received his BA in Mathematics from Hampshire College and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.
