Babson College AI Tool Terms of Use

Babson College is pleased to offer this “AI Tool” to augment the student entrepreneurial journey. You, as a student staff or faculty member, or guest user, are the “User” below.
Student Agents are owned by the College in accordance with and subject to the Babson College Intellectual Property Policy. Content, including input, prompts, and Course Agents entered or created by the User using this AI Tool is owned by the author thereof in accordance with the College’s Policy on Intellectual Property and applicable law. User Content, including inputs and prompts that the User enters into Student Agents and/or Course Agents within this AI Tool will not be used by the College for commercial purposes without the User’s consent. All Use of this AI Tool by the User including without limitation, the inputs, prompts, outputs, Student Agents and/or Course Agents is subject to applicable College policies and procedures, including without limitation, these AI Tool Terms of Use, as any and/or all of the same may be modified, revised, replaced or changed from time to time by the College in its sole discretion.
AI Tool Terms of Use
You, as a student, staff or faculty member, or guest user, are the “User” below. “User Content” includes Student Agents, Course Agents, and all inputs and prompts that the User enters into Student Agents and/or Course Agents within this AI Tool.
The AI Tool includes three applications: Student Agents, Course Agents and LLM apps. “Student Agents” are tools created by the College for use by students in the AI Tool for educational purposes. “Course Agents” are tools created by faculty, staff, guests, or students for use by Users in the AI Tool for purposes of one or more specific courses at the discretion of the faculty. In broad terms, “LLM apps” are software applications like ChatGPT and Claude that use large language models that may be integrated into the services or functionality of the AI Tool.
The User hereby agrees that all User Content may be collected, stored, copied, processed and analyzed by the College for College research, College systems or product improvement. The User further agrees that all User Content other than User prompts may be used by any other User while accessing or using the AI Tool in accordance with and subject to these Terms of Use.
In addition, the User hereby grants to College a non-exclusive, world-wide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-transferable license to User Content and Gen AI (defined below) to use, reproduce, perform, display, create derivative works based upon, and distribute copies of such User Content and Gen AI solely for the College to provide the AI Tool services in accordance with its policies, procedures and applicable law. The foregoing license includes the right to sublicense any of the foregoing to the extent necessary for the College to provide the AI Tool services. The User hereby represents and warrants that the User is the owner of or is otherwise authorized to grant the rights described in these Terms of Use.
This AI Tool is provided by the College to assist the educational endeavors of its students and not for any commercial purposes of any kind or nature. The tool may generate data, outputs, text, reports, forms, analytics, results and other information (collectively, “Gen AI”) in response to inputs, prompts, Agents of either type and requests supplied by the User. Gen AI is a third-party service and is not under the control of College. The College does not make any representations nor warranties with respect to Gen AI. The College expressly disclaims all responsibility for Gen AI and any and all uses thereof. Gen AI may be inaccurate and/or incomplete and the User uses Gen AI solely at the User’s own risk. The User is solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all Gen AI and assessing the suitability of Gen AI before use. The User also remains solely responsible for the content, legality, accuracy and completeness of all inputs, prompts, Agents of either type and Gen AI. The User shall not use nor supply to the AI Tool any inputs, prompts, Agents of either type and/or Gen AI that (a) infringes or misappropriates any intellectual property right or proprietary rights of a third party; (b) is deceptive, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, illegal or pornographic; and/or (c) contains any viruses, worms or other malicious computer programming codes that may damage the AI Tool. The College may at any time with or without notice suspend or terminate the User’s access to any part or all of the AI Tool including, without limitation, Gen AI based on any violation of College policy, failure to comply with these Terms of Use and/or misuse of the AI Tool.
All use of this AI Tool is subject to applicable College policies, including but not limited to the Acceptable Use Policy, Policy on Data Protection for Generative AI, Terms and Conditions of Use for Babson College Websites and Privacy Policy as any and/or all of the same may be modified, revised, replaced or changed from time to time by the College in its sole discretion and nothing in these AI Tool Terms of Use shall be construed to revise, amend, replace, modify or otherwise change any of the foregoing.
