Are you planning to participate in the 15th annual Babson Trading Competition? Are you interested in gaining more hands-on practice using the Rotman Interactive Trader software? Join finance students Oak Kornsri MSF'25, Liubov Mykhailyshyn MSF'25, Carlos Roberto Diaz Neto MSF'25, and Sloane Zhu MSF'26 for a RIT practice session. Students participating in the Trading Competition will also have the opportunity to do a practice round on the night of the competition. The more practice, the better! No prior experience with the RIT software is required to attend. This session is open to Babson, Wellesley, and Olin College undergraduate and graduate students. Registration is required. The 15th annual Babson Trading Competition, sponsored by Fidelity Investments, welcomes students to compete against one another using the Rotman Interactive Trader software, which simulates an order-driven market. This competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students at Babson College, Olin College, and Wellesley College. Students will compete individually, with cash prizes awarded to the top five finishers. Registration is required. Prior to the competition, participants are encouraged to download and install the RIT Market Simulator Client and the Excel RTD (Real-Time Data) Links. The competition is based on the Liability Trading cases (LT3, LT4). In these cases, participants will be playing the role of a principal trader. Institutional orders will be randomly routed to a principal trading desk, and traders must decide whether or not to accept the tender. If the order is accepted, the trader then must develop an optimal strategy for unwinding the position over time, accounting for market conditions such as liquidity, price volatility, and price impact. In conjunction with our undergraduate and graduate fintech courses, please join the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at our fourth annual Babson FinTech Start Up Pitch Competition. Select students from the course, taught by associate professor Linghang Zeng, will present their start up ideas to a group of esteemed fintech professionals for a chance to win cash prizes.
