Lt. Kevin Richardson

Assistant Director/Patrol Lieutenant

The Babson College Uniformed Patrol Division is the heart of our organization and made up of Sworn Babson College Police Officers and Non-Sworn Community Service Officers who perform our security and communications functions. All Babson College Police Officers attend the Massachusetts Police Training Council full time police academy and several members of our department serve as instructors at the regional police academies throughout the state.

All our police officers receive their police powers from the Massachusetts State Police, Wellesley Police, and Needham Police. All sworn members of the Babson College Police Department are special police officers in the towns of Wellesley and Needham and are certified by the Massachusetts POST commission which was established as part of the criminal justice reform legislation enacted in 2020.

Our Babson College Community Service Officers are full time Public Safety employees responsible for our communications center and security functions on campus. They provide vital services to the overall operation of the college and the community. Community Service Officers undergo eight weeks of professional in-house field training and participate in the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) six-week training program.

The Uniformed Patrol Divisions main responsibility is to respond to calls for service, criminal offenses, and medical emergencies. We take pride in our mission of serving and protecting all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors that come to Babson. Please be aware the Uniformed Patrol Division serves the Babson College community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You can always reach us at 781-239-5555
