Transcript Request Policies

Electronic transcript requests are typically processed in one business day, as long as your account is not on hold and you enter information correctly. Mailed transcript requests are typically mailed out within one business day. Please plan accordingly.

Transcripts requests cannot be processed for students who have certain holds on their account; this includes students who have an accounting hold due to an outstanding balance with Student Financial Services. Before requesting your transcript, be sure you do not have a hold on your account. When you request your transcript from the National Student Clearinghouse, if your account is on hold, you will receive a message from registrar@babson.edu informing you that your transcript request has been canceled due to an account hold. You will need to contact the office who placed the hold to clear it. After your hold is resolved you may submit a new transcript request.

When requesting a transcript, you must enter a student ID number to allow you to move forward in the ordering process. Current students can see their ID in Workday by doing the following: click on the Academic icon, then click “view my academic record,” then click your name. If you are unable to locate your student ID number, please email the Registrar’s Office.

Students that attended courses or completed their Babson MBA at the San Francisco campus can obtain their transcript via the electronic process stated above. If San Francisco students would like access to their full student record please email Graduate Academic Services.

Please email the Registrar’s Office to request your transcript if you:

  • Attended before 1990 and did not receive a Babson College degree
  • Graduated and received a Babson College degree before 1990
  • Need a notarized transcript

Unofficial Transcripts

Current students can access their unofficial transcript by going to “Generate Unofficial Transcript for Student” in Workday Student.

Enrollment and Degree Verification

Enrollment verification letters confirm that a student is or was enrolled at Babson and are often required for health insurance and loan deferment purposes. Degree verification letters confirm that a student graduated from Babson and are often used for visa and employment purposes.

Enrollment and degree verification requests may be submitted via postal mail, fax, email, or in-person by completing the Enrollment and Degree Verification Request Form (pdf). Forms, such as health insurance or loan deferment forms, that need to be completed by the Registrar’s Office may be sent in place of the Enrollment and Degree Verification Form so long as it contains all necessary information. Please make sure any sections that need to be filled out by the student and/or parent or guardian are signed and completed, and include any required supplemental forms.

Requests may also be submitted in-person at the Registrar’s Office, which is located on the third floor of Hollister Hall. Standard processing time applies.

Enrollment and Degree Verification Request Policies

Verification letters are printed on Babson College Registrar’s Office letterhead, signed by the College Registrar, and embossed with the Babson College seal (note: the seal does not appear on letters sent via email or fax).

Enrollment and degree verification requests are typically processed within three to five business days and on a first-come-first-served basis. Please plan accordingly.

For expedited shipping or courier delivery service, please specify this on your request form and follow the instructions for using eShipGlobal Express Mail/Courier Service (pdf). Express mail or courier service is at your expense and may expedite the shipping time, but will not expedite our processing time.

The Registrar’s Office can only verify enrollment and degree information. The Registrar’s Office can only verify enrollment for a semester in which the student is or was registered. The Registrar’s Office cannot verify enrollment for semesters in which the student is not yet registered. Many student loan lenders will only defer student loans if the student is enrolled in at least six credits for the semester.

Replacement Diplomas

A Babson graduate may request a replacement diploma in the event that the original was either lost or destroyed.

Request Process

To request a replacement diploma, complete and mail the Diploma Request Form (pdf) along with a $50.00 check made payable to Babson College.

Requests are typically processed within one to two weeks once received. For expedited shipping or courier delivery service, please specify this on your request form and follow the instructions for using eShipGlobal Express Mail/Courier Service (pdf). Express mail or courier service is at your expense and may expedite the shipping time, but will not expedite our processing time.

If an Apostille is required, please follow the Apostille Instructions (pdf).

Replacement Diploma Request Policies

The name printed on the replacement diploma will be the diploma name requested by the student at the time of graduation, if available, or the name on the student’s record. For degrees granted prior to July of 1997, the replacement diploma will have an updated format and bear the signatures of the current College President and Chair of the Board of Trustees.

  • Only one replacement diploma may be issued per student for each degree earned.
  • The fee for a replacement diploma is fifty dollars ($50.00) per degree. Payment may be made by check only.
  • In place of a replacement diploma, students may submit a Enrollment and Degree Verification Request Form (pdf) if a verification of a degree is required for employers or for visa purposes.

Currently enrolled international students whose legal name was incorrect on the College application must submit a name change request along with a copy of their current passport. The new name requested must be an exact match to the name on the passport.

Name changes requests will be reviewed by the Registrar's Office. If approved, the name on the student record and College transcript will be updated and other offices on campus will receive notification of the change.
