Dennis Jjuuko joined the History and Society Division in Fall 2024, teaching 'Africa Rising'. Dennis has vast experience (research and teaching) on issues of peace and security, ranging from social justice and public policy, human rights, governance of security, transitional justice, natural resources governance, and migration among others. His research is mostly on Africa. He has done several academic paper presentations both locally and internationally on issues of peace and security.
Dennis is equally a fellow of the African Leadership Centre at King's College London where he is involved with the Leading Practitioners Program. His role is to support research and theorizing of Dr. Kizza Besigye's (Uganda's leading opposition figure) practice of leadership in Uganda's politics with an aim of producing a book with Dr. Besigye documenting his leadership journey.
Dennis has published on issues of witness-protection, refugee policies in East Africa, and the International Criminal Court's programming. Dennis also teaches courses on Africa, Evolution of the Global System, and International Relations.
