James Savarese joined the faculty in 2020 as an Adjunct Professor and currently teaches SME Technology and Operations Management. Prior to joining Babson, James spent 12 years as the Chief Operating Officer at Wayfair, a global home furnishings company based in Boston. James helped grow Wayfair from a start-up into a Fortune 500 company on a global scale with over 15K employees and $10B in revenue. During this period as COO, James had executive oversight for a wide-range of functions globally: Supply Chain and Global Operations, Sales and Customer Care, the B2B business, the CastleGate fulfillment business, product management, data analytics, product merchandising and all offshore operations. Prior to Wayfair, James was a senior executive of a supply chain services and software company, which he co-founded, grew and successfully sold over a seven year run. James is also an investor and Board advisor to several early stage companies around the country. James has a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an MBA from University of Chicago. James lives in Wellesley with his wife and two daughters.
