How to Write a College Essay: The Personal Statement and Writing Supplement
We can’t wait for you to join us at Babson and become a part of our community. Babson students are ambitious from day one, and that drive and curiosity are reasons why our students see remarkable professional outcomes right out of college.
That includes 98.6% of our students from the Class of 2023 are employed or continuing their education just six months after graduation, with an average starting salary of $75,579.
As a member of the January Admission cohort, you get some extra time before college to decompress and strategically think about your next step. What you decide to do in the summer and fall before starting at Babson is up to you!
Coming as an international student, I wanted a student body which is diverse and reflective of today’s global world. The Babson community is so supportive, and we have access to all these wonderful clubs and hands-on learning classes versus lecture-heavy classes. I’m really glad I chose Babson.
Babson deeply values the residential learning experience for new college students. The dynamic nature of learning at Babson, with options for education abroad, semester-long internships, and accelerated graduation, opens space in our residence halls that provides us with the opportunity to admit talented students to join our community. January Admission brings approximately 100 new students to campus in the spring semester with unique, extended experiences after high school who add to the excitement and energy of our community. Have more questions? Check out the January FAQs here!
Students interested in being considered for January admission should highlight this in their applications to Babson. We will consider requests for January in all of our admission rounds: Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision. There is no separate January admission deadline.

A wide range of things. Some students admitted in January work to save money and then travel. Others pursue service opportunities or internships. The following is a short sampling of some activities pursued by recent January Admits:
“I worked full-time as a business administration assistant at a local hospital five days a week. I also started waitressing, and I went to Europe for a few weeks.”
Charlotte Wadanoli ’26
“It was really a much needed break for me after finishing high school. I spent a lot of time working with my dad at his company [a construction equipment company]. I also traveled a bit in India. It was nice having the time to spend with my family, which you generally don’t get when you’re working or in college.”
Aryan Mankar ’25
“I decided to take a gap semester before I applied. I started my own online community and newsletter chain. Also, because of the timing, I was able to represent Canada at the World Youth Chess Championship.”
Elena Yang ’26
“I worked 40 hours a week. I experienced what it was to be a real, real adult. I worked for a landscaping company over the summer a little bit and in the fall, I started working for Home Depot. Before coming to Babson, I started an apparel company, which I luckily still have running today.”
Anderson Guzman ’24
“I worked in retail at Alo Yoga in Manhattan, 5th Ave which really got me into the business world. The store I worked at was a brand-new location, and my team and I had to build it up and had many promotional events. It got me more interested in marketing, plus helped me gain real-world experience.”
Zarin Rahman ’26
“I played two years of junior hockey before I came to Babson. My dad is an airline pilot and flight instructor and learning to fly is one thing I never had time to do. I was able to get my pilot’s license that time.”
Daniel Klatt ’25
