Academic Division: Entrepreneurship
Ruth Agbaji is an entrepreneur and systems-driven operator whose work focuses on helping founders turn bold ideas into disciplined, scalable ventures. She began her career as an engineer at Microsoft, where she developed a foundation in structured problem solving, systems architecture, and product development. That engineering mindset continues to shape her approach to entrepreneurship, grounding creativity in operational rigor and measurable execution.

Ruth is the founder of Code Wiz, a children’s coding education company she grew from a single concept into a national franchise with 24 locations across the United States. As founder and CEO, she led brand development, franchise design, curriculum strategy, unit economics modeling, franchisee recruitment, and multi-location operations. She is also a multi-unit franchise owner in Massachusetts, giving her both franchisor and franchisee perspective on scaling, systems alignment, and the realities of operating growing ventures. Her expertise spans franchise systems, business model design, customer acquisition, leadership development, and scaling founder-led companies without sacrificing culture or clarity.

Ruth is the author of The 25-Hour Week, a practical guide for small business owners seeking to build stronger systems and lead with intention. Her TEDx talk explores the courage required to embrace uncertainty and build in the face of ambiguity, a theme central to her entrepreneurial journey. She continues to build ventures while advising founders who are ready to move from vision to structured growth.
