Kathleen “Kathy” Dean
Kathy brings over 30 years of industry experience to the classroom, with the majority of her career focused on the delivery of innovative technology services and products in the financial services and benefits arena. Beginning her career as a software developer, Kathy continually progressed to the executive level, where she led several large global product development organizations.
In her most recent corporate assignment, Kathy led the development of the health care platforms for Fidelity Investments, including the formation of an agile development organization within the long-standing, mature benefits business of Fidelity. This role required deep business acumen, experience with a wide array of technologies, and the ability to form and gel global, high-performing teams. Kathy was instrumental in conceptualizing, championing, and leading the build of this open-source, cloud-native health administration platform. Throughout her career, Kathy has been consistently recognized for exceptional delivery in engineering, software development and high-quality product capabilities.
While leading the execution of this multi-million dollar technology delivery portfolio, Kathy was also chartered with setting the strategic direction of new product offerings, driving the modernization of existing technical ecosystem in alignment with the firm's priorities, and evaluating opportunities for innovation.
Kathy is also an active proponent of diversity in technology programs, mentoring and advocating for diversity of staffing and advancement in technology organizations.
As a global real estate advisor for Gibson Sotheby's International Realty, Kathy also help clients buy and sell real estate, specializing on Cape Cod real estate. In the spring, Kathy will also be an assistant coach for women's lacrosse at Nauset High School in Eastham, MA.
