As Vice President for Student Affairs at Babson College, Dr. Lawrence P. Ward (Larry) provides strategic direction for a transformative educational experience that supports students’ academic, social, professional, and cultural development and personal well-being. He provides campus leadership and executive oversight for intercollegiate athletics, student health and wellness, student engagement and leadership development, multicultural and identity programs, religious and spiritual life, housing and dining, residence education, BabsonArts, community standards, campus police and public safety, and student affairs administration. As the dean of students, he also serves as the focal point for students in crisis and related campus emergencies.

Prior to Babson, Larry served as associate dean for academic programs at American University’s Kogod School of Business in Washington, DC, where he led all degree programs and related student services including enrollment management, academic advising, career services, and global learning programs. He previously served as managing director at PRS, Inc., an organizational development consulting firm and as a healthcare account executive for Aetna, Inc. Larry holds degrees from the University of Connecticut and University of Michigan, and earned his doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.

A popular and engaging featured speaker and panelist, Larry holds national leadership positions in higher education and is recognized for helping individuals and organizations to reach their maximum potential for success. He is widely respected for his ability to build authentic and impactful connections with students, faculty and staff.
