Wellness & Prevention Services
Our campus culture is grounded in a commitment to primary prevention and informed decision-making, with the goal of reducing the need for later intervention or treatment. Wellness & Prevention Services—including initiatives focused on mental health, interpersonal violence prevention education, sexual health, and alcohol and other drug education—are thoughtfully designed to support and sustain this proactive approach to student well-being.
Peers On Wellness
Peers On Wellness (POW) is a student leadership program devoted to promoting health and educating fellow Babson students on a range of wellness topics. POWs are fellow Babson students who are advised by the Wellness & Prevention Services staff. They offer several programs throughout the year designed to help you prioritize your personal health and wellness so you can successfully achieve all your goals.
Interpersonal Violence Prevention & Response Services
Interpersonal Violence Prevention & Response Services is responsible for a comprehensive, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed sexual assault & violence prevention program for Babson students. Students are able to get free and confidential consultations by trained confidential advocates. These consultations can be used to seek support or referrals and/or discuss concerns for friends, partners, and family members. We also have a 24/7/365 Confidential Rape Crisis Hotline (781-239-7233) for students impacted by Interpersonal Violence.
Alcohol and Other Drug Services
Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS) offers a range of services designed to reduce the negative consequences associated with high-risk drinking and other forms of substance misuse. Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS) offers a range of services, including free and confidential consultations by appointment. AODS supports all students, including Babson’s non-drinker community and students in recovery from substances.
Sexual Health Promotion
Sexual Health Promotion is defined by a comprehensive, culturally-inclusive, evidence-based sexual health program that includes a range of free-of-charge safer sex & reproductive products for students. If you’re sexually active, you also have the option to get tested for sexually transmitted infections. Health Services also can discuss and prescribe contraceptives, such as oral contraceptives (birth control pill).
Mental Health Promotion
Mental Health Promotion supports holistic, non-clinical programs designed to address emotional well-being. This includes support surrounding sleeping habits, stress & anxiety, relationships, boundaries, and more. Students can enjoy free access to the calming Mindfulness Room, participate in guided meditations, and take advantage of self-made wellness kits. These resources are thoughtfully curated to help students recharge, refocus, and build healthy habits that support their overall success.
