The Blank Center is pleased to present the Indian Angel Network (IAN) Global Startup Competition to the Babson community.
Babson students, alumni, faculty, staff, and parents from around the world were invited to apply to pitch their startups ready for angel funding to IAN.
Spext was announced the winner of the IAN Global Startup Competition on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Pitched by Anup Gosavi MBA’13 live in the virtual finale, Spext is an all-in-one platform to make your recorded voice content useful faster.
Please note: The final investment decision was made by IAN. The decision was based on IAN's due diligence, including their review on the team, market, and product after the competition finale, as well as the potential for additional funds from IAN investors.
Who can apply?
Babson students, alumni, faculty, staff, and parents from around the world are invited to apply to pitch their startups ready for angel funding. At least one of the founders must have this type of connection to Babson.
What are the important deadlines and timing for the finale?
Call for applications: Monday, September 17, 2018
Last date to submit applications to IAN: Thursday, October 25, 2018
After the close date, IAN will be reviewing applications. IAN will be in touch directly should the team need additional information to evaluate your submission. The virtual finale will be on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
Does it matter what industry my startup is in?
Startups from any industry are welcome to apply.
Who is reviewing the applications and making the decision?
IAN will receive and review the applications and make all decisions related to the competition. If you are invited to the finale, you will prepare a pitch presentation which you will present to the IAN investors. Finalist teams will receive expert coaching and mentorship from IAN.
Where will the finale be held?
The pitch competition will be held virtually and live streamed on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
What is the opportunity?
The opportunity is to pitch for an equity investment of at least $250,000 USD by IAN. The final investment decision will be made by IAN. The decision will be based on IAN's due diligence, including their review of the team, market, and product after the competition finale, as well as the potential for additional funds from IAN investors.
