Coach Graduate Students in the No. 1 MBA Program for Entrepreneurship

Make a real difference in how young people think about their leadership development and ability to achieve career milestones. Research by Babson experts demonstrates the positive impact you’ll have on our students—and within your own company. Participating in personal development planning while working in talent management catalyzes your ability and desire to manage and develop the talent of others.

The training and coaching experience has added value in my professional and personal life. It’s wonderful to be able to help them contemplate the things most important to them.

How the Graduate Coaching Program Works

The Graduate Coaching Program is part of the required Entrepreneurial Leadership course in the Babson MBA—ranked no. 1 by U.S. News & World Report for 31 consecutive years. This course connects full-time MBA students with you—Developmental Learning Partners (DLP)—to help students build their individual personal development plan.

Students learn about talent management concepts and frameworks in the course, put in context through self-applied concepts and the creation of a personal development plan. As a Developmental Learning Partner, you will help students explore options and put their drafted plans to the test.

Coming into this program, everybody’s interested, everybody’s focused, everybody’s prepared, and it just makes it more interesting when we’re having a dialog about what their career aspirations are, and some of the questions that come out of it.

Who Should Apply to Be a Developmental Learning Partner?

  • 10+ years of experience in an established organization, family business, or startup
  • Seeking an opportunity to pay their professional knowledge forward with one-on-one coaching with a student on their career exploration and development plan
  • Commitment to participate in a two- to three-hour advisory session
This whole concept of needing to take responsibility for our own career is more important than ever. This program to help students start that process early on is just so critical, and it’s wonderful to be a part of that.
