With more than thirty-seven years of experience teaching Italian language and culture, Laura brings unparalleled depth, creativity, and passion to the Italian Studies Program. As Master Lecturer and overall coordinator of the BU and Babson programs, she has dedicated her career to fostering an engaging and immersive environment that connects students directly to the heart of Italian life—past and present.
Laura has developed and taught a wide range of courses that go far beyond the traditional language classroom, blending linguistic proficiency with rich explorations of Italy’s diverse cultural expressions. Through courses that integrate music, art, food, film, and regional traditions, students gain not only fluency in the language but also an authentic understanding of the ever-evolving Italian identity.
Always attuned to contemporary Italy, Laura introduces students to the pulse of modern Italian society—its popular media, fashion, sports, and social trends—helping them experience Italy as a dynamic and living culture. Her teaching philosophy centers on engagement, curiosity, and cultural empathy, inspiring students to connect deeply with Italian society both inside and beyond the classroom.
Laura's contributions as an educator, curriculum innovator, and program leader have helped shape Italian Studies into a vibrant, forward-looking program that reflects the richness and diversity of Italy itself.
