Insurance for Facility Licensees
Organizations that license the use of Babson College facilities must have insurance that will respond in the event someone is harmed due to the actions of the licensee. That insurance must include Babson College as additional insured.
College facilities that are licensed for use by others include:
- Athletic facilities
- Glavin Chapel
- Sorensen Theater
- Residence halls
- Classrooms
- Skating rink
- Conference rooms

If the entity does not have insurance, they can purchase insurance for their specific purpose—Events (TULIP) Coverage or Youth Camps Insurance Coverage.
Events (TULIP) Coverage
The Tenants’ and Users’ Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP) is also known as “Events Coverage.”
It is used by an organization planning to license the use of Babson College facilities for a specific event or activity when that organization does not have general liability insurance coverage. It is not intended for Babson College to shift any of its specific operational risk away from its own General Liability insurance. The insurance policy protects both the facility user and Babson College against claims by third parties who may be injured or whose property may be damaged as a result of participating in an event.
TULIP does not provide coverage for youth academic and sports camps.
For more information about TULIP, please see the Tenants’ and Users’ Liability Insurance Policy (pdf). (Please note that you do not need an invitation code.)
Youth Camps Insurance Coverage
The URMIA Camps Insurance Program is used by an organization planning to license the use of Babson College facilities for a specific youth camp when that organization does not have general liability insurance. It protects the camp, its coaches and counselors, as well as Babson. Additionally, participants are covered for medical bills related to accidents occurring at the camp. While this insurance program is designed for sports camps, the coverage accommodates most youth academic and educational camps as well.
The following camps are automatically approved in the URMIA Camps Insurance Program:
- Academic Camps
- Archery
- Badminton
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Cheerleading (without stunts)
- Cross Country
- Fencing
- Field Hockey
- Flag Football

- Lacrosse
- Racquetball
