Risk Assessment For College Activities

Babson sponsors and/or hosts a wide range of activities and events for students, alumni, faculty and staff, and external users of College facilities.

To provide guidance to event organizers in assessing the risk associated with these activities and events, the Risk Management Department has prepared a Risk Management Guide for Activity/Event Organizers (pdf).

The Guide features a “Risk Matrix” that provides a framework for evaluating the risk related to different types of campus activities and events. It is a framework only—each activity or event has unique characteristics that organizers must assess to evaluate potential risks.

For assistance in using the Guide and evaluating the risks posed by campus activities and events, organizers and sponsors should contact the Risk Management Department.
