This event is a chance for students to meet with Investment Banks that are looking to connect with first year and sophomore students. Many of the firms that will be in attendance to recruit for specific first year and sophomore programs. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about a career in investment banking, the recruiting process & timeline, and skills that you will need to enter the industry. During this event, you will be able to make connections with many alumni in the investment banking industry. Who should attend? Undergraduate First Years & Sophomores. Why should you attend? Meet employers and expand your knowledge of the variety of companies and roles in Investment Banking. Build your network by building relationships with employers, alumni, and peers. What is the dress code? Professional attire. What is the format? The event will begin with a short period of open networking. We will then move into table rotations. You will sit at a round table with a small group of students. Employers will rotate to your group to give you a "mini-info session" of their firm and career opportunities. There will be time during each rotation for students to ask questions. The event will conclude with more open networking. You'll also notice QR codes at each employer table. Scan the QR code of companies you're interested in to have your Handshake profile, resume, & contact information shared with the recruiters. Only public profile information will be shared, so be sure to check your settings before the event. Handshake will send you a summary of the companies you met with after the event. To make the process fast and simple, make sure your Handshake account is activated and download the Handshake app head of time. What should I bring? Please bring a notebook and pen to take notes during your round-table discussions, hard copies of your resume, and a business card if you have one (optional). How can I prepare? Please come to this event prepared by taking a look at the participating companies, reviewing their websites and the job/internship opportunities that are currently posted in Handshake. You only have one chance to make a first great impression, so come prepared! What skills will I develop? It's one thing to know your stuff, it's quite another to show you have the skills to work well with people and get things done. By attending this event, you will sharpen your communication and collaboration skills by engaging in dialogue in both round table and open networking formats. You will develop your critical thinking skills by paying attention, sharing innovative ideas, and asking insightful questions. Finally, you will develop leadership skills. Leadership is often not about taking charge, rather it the ability to use interpersonal skills effectively. Is registration required? Registration is strongly recommended. The expectation is that you attend the event from 4:30pm-6:30pm. If you cannot attend the entire event please contact CCD to let us know if you will be late or need to leave early. If you are no longer able to attend, please “leave” the event in Handshake. How can I request accommodation?
