The Blank School engages Babson community members and leads research to create entrepreneurial leaders.
Food is everybody’s business.
We believe that eaters and food entrepreneurs together can change the world. Our action tank is a place for them to gather, think through their ideas, and pinpoint smart action steps to move their food visions forward.
How We Work
- Navigating the big picture: Food-system-wide knowledge and relationships help us to fuel smart action.
- Engagements: Community Table and Quick Service Incubator are our signature designs that best demonstrate our approach. We also custom design for private partners.
- Thought Leadership: Ours is a globally recognized voice on food-system innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Economics as a core focus: Creating social and environmental value within economically sustainable business designs ensures that emergent ventures grow to be both relevant and resilient.

Why Does the Food System Need Entrepreneurship?
The number and scale of dilemmas linked to food are complex, intertwined, and daunting. Although few agreements are in place to define any of these dilemmas, let alone determine a path forward, the opportunities to contribute to a better food future through business have never been greater.
Where Are the Entrepreneurial Opportunities?
Thousands of movements are underway—from neighborhood to national in scope—to redesign our food system. Initiatives seeded by government, philanthropy, and business are all doing their parts to make change.
Uniquely, Food Sol resources and supports food entrepreneurs (from serial venture creators to eaters to everyone in between) wishing to take positive action for the food system.
