BABSON COLLEGE'S MISSION: DEFINITION SELECTED AS A 2012 MITX INTERACTIVE AWARDS FINALIST; MISSION: DEFINITION RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT
Babson College today announced its Mission: Definition campaign has been selected as a finalist in the Educational Institution category for the 17th Annual MITX Interactive Awards. Held annually by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, the Awards recognize excellence in the creation of web innovations designed, produced or developed in New England.
Since 1996 the MITX Awards have grown to become the largest and most prestigious awards competition in the country for marketing innovations, celebrating the best creative and technological accomplishments emerging from New England.
“The submissions for this year’s MITX Awards were fantastic. We selected the finalists from a very impressive pool of work, and the decision was tough,” said MITX President Debi Kleiman. “New England’s creative companies are harnessing the power of digital to create stunning interactive work. The 2012 finalists represent true innovators: they are the best and brightest in our industry, and their passion shines through these projects in a way that will undoubtedly impact our industry as a whole. Babson College, the educator, convener and thought leader for Entrepreneurship of All Kinds,™ is changing the way entrepreneurship is viewed and valued through a new digital hub, define.babson.edu. This crowdsourcing site provides opportunities for people around the world to participate in redefining entrepreneurship by posting and sharing definitions and accessing information about the entrepreneurial experience. The site, supported by an integrated advertising and marketing campaign, has attracted more than 110,000 people from 155 countries since its launch in November 2011.
“We’re honored to be selected as a finalist for the MITX Interactive Awards” said Sarah Sykora, Chief Marketing Officer at Babson College. “Interactivity and engagement are at the core of our campaign to redefine entrepreneurship, and we greatly appreciate the recognition of this from a leading marketing innovations award program.”
The campaign was conceptualized and executed in partnership with Boston-based advertising agency Connelly Partners. "Babson’s rankings demonstrate its position as a thought leader and this campaign illustrates the organization’s approach and ideologies," said Connelly Partners’ President Steve Connelly.
Babson College will be recognized with the other finalists in the category of Educational Institution at a gala awards ceremony traditionally attended by over 1,000 of the region’s top interactive marketing and technology professionals.
