BABSON COLLEGE ELIMINATES APPLICATION FEE AND EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR BOSTON PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS
Boston Public School students can now apply to the Undergraduate School at Babson College for free under a new program announced today by Babson College.
In addition, Babson College is extending the deadline for applications from Boston Public School students to January 15, 2017.
As a further commitment, Babson College also offers four-year, full-tuition scholarships to those Boston residents who demonstrate the greatest potential for leadership in creating a diverse community. To be considered for Babson’s Diversity Leadership Awards–Boston, candidates should apply to Babson College for both admission and financial aid.
“Babson College is pleased to expand our partnership with the City of Boston by supporting Boston Public School students,” said President Kerry Healey. “We brought Babson to Boston with our new classroom, innovation and co-working space in the heart of the Financial District. Now, we hope to bring Boston to Babson by encouraging and supporting talented Boston Public School students who will become entrepreneurial leaders equipped to create great social and economic value everywhere.”
"Whether they're opening a new classroom in the Financial District, waiving the application fee for undergraduate applicants, or providing full-tuition scholarships, Babson College is removing barriers and opening doors of opportunity for Boston Public School students," said Mayor Martin J. Walsh. "I thank them for their commitment to giving Boston's students the resources and support to reach their potential."
These actions are the latest example of Babson College’s growing ties with the City of Boston. Earlier this semester Babson College expanded its presence in Boston with the opening of a new, 9,000 square foot campus at 100 High Street in the heart of Boston’s Financial District, doubling the size of Babson’s footprint in Boston. Babson College has held numerous entrepreneurship-related events, presentations and conferences at the new site in the premier entrepreneurial city in the United States.
“Babson College’s Undergraduate School is pleased to waive the $75 application fee and offer an extension of the application deadline to January 15, 2017 as a sign of our commitment of support to students in the Boston Public School system,” said Ian Lapp, Dean of the Undergraduate School at Babson College. “We look forward to reviewing applications that celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of these outstanding student applicants and at the same time are pleased to make available generous leadership scholarships”.
