Hennessey named to Putnam Institute Advisory Board

Christopher Hennessey, Associate Professor of Law, and Faculty Director, Executive Education at Babson, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the newly launched Putnam Institute. 
 
Putnam Institute was launched in June by Putnam Investments. The Institute is charged with rigorous research on investment theory and practice related to retirement and educational savings and the provision of lifelong income, to advance discussion and ultimately provide solutions in the retail, institutional and defined contribution markets.
 
The activities of the Institute will be guided by the Advisory Board whose members have expertise in various fields relevant to the Institute’s mission.
 
Professor Hennessey served as academic dean of the undergraduate program at Babson for six years, and has developed and taught courses in both the MBA and undergraduate programs. As Faculty Director at Babson Executive Education, he is responsible for custom program design, program development and delivery, selection and coaching of faculty, and client relationships and business development. Hennessey teaches finance including shareholder value, finance for the non-financial manager, mergers and acquisitions, economic value added, real options, and financial statement analysis. He also teaches corporate entrepreneurship with a focus on corporate venturing and strategy.
 
Hennessey has led and taught in numerous custom programs for such companies as Siemens, American Express, Telenor, Pitney Bowes, Novell, Infineon, Sony, Allied Domecq, Hartford Financial Services, Smith's Group, and others. He has taught in most areas of the world including the United States, England, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Hungary, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Brazil, Uruguay, and Canada.
 
Professor Hennessey is a former principal at Beaumont Financial Partners, an investment advisory firm. He is a member of the Business Advisory Group for Putnam Investments, a leading mutual fund company. He serves on the board of directors and as an advisor to a number of companies.
 
Hennessey earned a B.S., Babson College; J.D., Suffolk University; and LL.M, Boston University. He is a C.P.A.
 
Putnam Institute is a research and educational organization funded by Putnam Investments. Its focus is primarily on investment theory and practice related to retirement and educational savings and the provision of lifelong income.
