Babson College startup, InnerCity Weightlifting, is offering a free 10-week boot camp series this summer on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, located between India Street and High Street in Boston.

The coached workouts are open to the public and will be offered every Wednesday from 12:00-1:00p.m. The program runs until August 20th.

Jonathan Feinman M’10 is the Executive Director and Founder of InnerCity Weightlifting, a non-profit organization focused on reducing violence and advocating achievement among urban youth. InnerCity Weightlifting strives to take young people, who are at the highest risk for violence, off the streets and into the gym to build confidence and receive support.

The gym provides the most underserved teens with a positive place to go, where they can set goals from themselves physically and at a personal level to better their lives. The weightlifting gym is located in Dorchester where they serve 144 clients.

Their summer workout program was developed by Josh Feinman, InnerCity Weightlifting’s Program Director and Coach, and Sarah Cahill, InnerCity Weightlifting Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the USA Women's Hockey team and at Northeastern University. The program will help increase awareness about the organization’s mission to help get urban youth off the streets and into the gym. Feinman is thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the city of Boston through the program.

The next upcoming workout on July 23rd is sponsored by Babson College’s Office of Graduate Admissions, the Lewis Institute and the Graduate Center for Career Development.

There will be various free giveaways from Babson alumni businesses. The founders of ZOOS Greek Iced Tea, Niari Keverian M'12 and Kristina Tsipouras, will be offering free samples of their iced tea, a healthier alternative to other iced-tea products currently on the market.

Game Plan, founded by Alex Karsos ‘ 09 and Chris Karsos ’09, a nutritional supplement delivery company, will be giving away their supplement products to participants.

Those interested in participating in the Babson sponsored event are encouraged to sign up in advance.
