Ron Gonzalez: Seen Through My Eyes

    Full Details

Aged found objects, their inherent physicality shaped and hardened by history, are the core materials of Ron Gonzalezs anthropomorphic sculptures. The artist combines these found objects with leather scraps, soot, wax, and wire to build sculptural heads that contain a sense of past, present, and future within their aggregate anatomies. For Gonzalez, the objects that have been the most hard-worn or degraded, those that have reached the point of no return are the most compelling, because they reflect finite human existence while simultaneously taking on a new beginning as a raw material. There is a storied vulnerability to each of these heads, their hybrid persona having been uniquely defined by the selection of objects pieced together to make them whole. Exhibit on view through February 27, 2020. Gallery Hours are Monday through Fridays from 9:00a 7:00p. Free and open to the public. Registration for the Artist Talk/Opening Reception is strongly encouraged, seating is limited. Find out more >>

What are the UN Global Goals? How can you tap into this $12 trillion market opportunity? Join our open conversation with Cheryl Kiser, Executive Director of The Lewis Institute for Social Innovation. Registration is NOT required, but appreciated! About Impact Unplugged Service. Sustainability. Social Innovation. Sustainable, positive social impact can occur through a wide spectrum of activities. Individuals must first decide what problem they want to solve, and then determine where on the spectrum they can best influence the greatest change. How can you use the assets and resources you have to more effectively solve the UN Global Goals, like poverty, climate action, and inequality? How can you bring an entrepreneurial mindset and social design thinking to scale that impact? Impact Unplugged is a series of open conversations on Wednesdays from 6-7pm for all participants to share insights that lead to action. As with all our Uncommon Table conversations, come when can, stay as long as youd like. All are welcome. Location: The Lewis InstituteOlin Hall, corner suite 240-249Babson College Find out more >>
