After George Floyd: Historical Literacy, Solidarity, and Active Allyship for a New World

    Register Full Details

Facilitated by Elizabeth Swanson and Jane Edmonds, this 4-week non-credit bearing course examines how and why the killing of George Floyd in particular has unleashed a new movement for racial justice. Regardless of your identity, 'After George Floyd' will increase your fluency in the historical origins and repetitions of racism as a foundation for more advanced goals of recognizing implicit bias and building solidarity and active allyship across difference. We invite the Babson alumni community to face with us, with open minds, ears, and hearts, the revelations of this post-pandemic, post-George Floyd moment as hard evidence of the hard truth that racism and violence are central to-not an aberration from-the US national narrative. This course supports participants in exploring solidarity and active allyship as critical tools for dismantling systems of racism and building systems of equity and justice-in our communities, our organizations, and our shared world.Course Information:This is a non-credit bearing, lifelong learning opportunity for our alumni community.
