Denise Sakai Troxell received her B.Sc. in Computer Science and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil where she held a faculty position. She earned her Ph.D. in Operations Research from Rutgers University and, prior to joining Babson, taught at Montclair State University and College of the Holy Cross.

Dr. Troxell’s research expertise focuses on Graph Theory models of applications to frequency assignments in wireless communication networks and to the spreads of (ii) infectious diseases through populations, (ii) opinion through social networks, and (iii) faults in distributed computer networks. She has numerous articles in well-regarded scholarly publications in the fields of Discrete Mathematics and Combinatorics. Her research and teaching interests also include Operations Research, Theoretical Computer Science, and Mathematics/Operations Research Education. 

The college has recognized Dr. Troxell’s impactful teaching and research by granting her the Deans’ Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Undergraduate Program, the Babson Award for Excellence in Scholarship, and multiple Babson Research Scholarships.
