Michael L. Fetters, Professor Emeritus was the Walter Carpenter Distinguished Professor and Professor of Accounting at Babson College. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Fetters was Babson College’s first Provost and served as chairperson of the Accounting & Law Division.

Currently Dr. Fetters is a member of Babson’s National Curriculum Design and Launch team for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and consults with numerous small businesses on Boards of Directors as well as on Board of Advisors.

Past consulting assignments have been with Women Entrepreneurs New York City (WE NYC) housed within Small Businesses Services of NYC, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program, ShanghaiTech University and to the Dean of the Peter F. Drucker School of Management. Dr. Fetters is currently part of a five person Babson team designing a program to help women business owners in developing economies more easily access growth funding.

He has published numerous articles, book chapters and books as well as presented nationally and internationally on the topics of financial statement analysis, women in professions, curriculum innovation, technology-enhanced learning, the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems and accessing capital.

Dr. Fetters holds a Ph.D. in Business and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his B.S. from The Ohio State University. He worked for Arthur Andersen and is a CPA.
