Emily Griffin

Dr. Emily Griffin is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management in the Operations and Information Management Division at Babson College. She received her Ph.D. in Operations Management in 2022 from The University of Alabama. Her research focuses on inventory and pricing optimization for resale supply chains using operations research and data science methods. She also works with an interdisciplinary team on an NSF funded project to research techniques for disrupting wildlife trafficking supply chains with analytical methods. Dr. Griffin has worked on several applied research projects, including a fulfillment optimization project for an online tire retailer and a seating optimization project for Alabama Athletics. Dr. Griffin previously served as the INFORMS Student Chapter President, Vice-President, and Secretary during her time at The University of Alabama. She has also served as a reviewer for OMEGA: The International Journal of Management Science and as an ad-hoc reviewer for European Journal of Operational Research and Computers & Operations Research. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Dr. Griffin worked for a textile manufacturer while obtaining her M. S. in Operations Management and B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama. She has previously taught courses on Computer Simulation and Introduction to Operations Management and currently teaches Technology and Operations Management.
