Summer Venture Program
A 10-week intensive experience designed to accelerate the development of student entrepreneurial ventures.
Update on 2020 Summer Venture Program
The new circumstances due to the coronavirus outbreak mean all of us have to adapt and pivot. In lieu of our in-person Summer Venture Program, we will be offering Summer Catalyst, a 10-week virtual program for our student entrepreneurs to accelerate their ventures.
About Summer Venture Program
The Summer Venture Program (SVP) is a 10-week intensive experience that builds entrepreneurial skills and accelerates the development of student ventures. Each year approximately 15 teams are chosen among the most promising graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurs from Babson College, F.W. Olin College of Engineering, and Wellesley College.
Teams receive free housing, 24/7 workspace downtown, dedicated advisors, expert speakers/mentors, and world-class programming that leverage the resources of the Blank Center. As teams work to build their businesses, they make invaluable connections to potential customers, partners, investors, and industry influencers. At the culmination of the program, teams present at the Summer Venture Showcase to an audience of over 400 members of the Babson and local startup communities. Although the value of a transformative experience on an entrepreneur is priceless, each Babson Summer Venture team receives services with a market value of at least $200K.
Participants form lifelong bonds with their fellow entrepreneurs, and after the program, they join a powerful network of hundreds of SVP alumni that span over a decade.
Since its inception in 2009, the Summer Venture Program has influenced the lives of over 200 student entrepreneurs. Notable past ventures include DARTdrones, DetraPel, Mighty Well, Think Board, and Virool. Babson is recognized nationally as the No. 1 leader in entrepreneurship for 24 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report, and the Summer Venture Program is recognized regionally as the category winner for education 50 on Fire by BostInno. Embracing Entrepreneurial Thought and Action® (ET&A™) ourselves, the program has been finely honed over the course of 10 years, and today represents the best of entrepreneurship education.
The Molson Family Foundation was created to make gifts, grants, contributions, and donations to hospitals, educational institutions or institutes for advancement of education, and charitable institutions or organizations within Canada.
