McGraw-Hill Education

Challenge
With the disruption in the publishing industry, the CEO recognized the company’s leadership and culture needed to transform.

Solution
A two-year initiative where leaders participated in strategic work sessions, developed an entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities for innovation, and received coaching based on a 360-degree assessment so they could apply what they had learned directly at McGraw-Hill.

Results
Qualitative and quantitative indicators demonstrated the initiative enhanced leaders’ mindsets and skill sets, drove gains in collaboration and enterprise activity, and enabled improvements in business operations.

Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce

Challenge
Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce wanted to help organizations shift their cultures toward gender equity and inclusivity.

Solution
A yearlong program where cross-functional groups learned about gender, inclusion, and an entrepreneurial mindset. They created and implemented action plans, applying what they learned in their companies while the program was taking place.

Results
Ten companies found new ways to attract, retain, and promote employees through efforts that encourage diversity and inclusion, such as creating inclusivity groups, adding flexible work arrangements, and bringing interactive speaking sessions to their companies.

Fortune 50 Global Health Care Conglomerate

Challenge
The Technology Leadership Development Program Design Thinking Challenge is designed to develop IT leaders with an eye to the future demands of customers and younger employees.

Solution
The program introduces design thinking methodology to build a mindset for making decisions and taking actions despite ambiguity, developing highly agile and strategic thinkers. The participants, composed of Gen Z, Millennials, and experienced IT leaders, work in project teams to recommend innovative solutions to address real business challenges in creating and delivering IT/digital products for the future.

The five-month learning journey is led by Babson experts who deliver nine live online sessions and serve as faculty advisors/coaches for eight project teams. The program culminates in final project team presentations to senior sponsors and executive leadership.

Results
The Design Thinking Challenge develops leadership skills for the future and captures new perspectives and ideas from Gen Z, Millennials, and experienced IT leaders to deliver on the strategy of innovation, leading digital transformation and talent development. The program is ongoing, training roughly 40 participants per year.

Boston-based Integrated HealthCare System

Challenge
Find a way to foster sustained, meaningful innovation in healthcare technologies.

Solution
The blended-format, six-module Babson Innovation Academy program supports healthcare network licensing managers through collaboration with medical and clinical experts from across the network. This program develops skills in leadership, negotiations, communication, and collaboration. Each module has an average cohort of 40 participants.

Results
This program has strengthened collaboration and innovation in healthcare technology, creating value for patients, the inventor, and the organization alike. The partnership is ongoing, for sustained impact.
