    Building Undergraduate Resumes

    The resume is the foundation for nearly all professional development endeavors. Regardless of where you may find yourself (applying for internships or full/part-time employment, researching graduate school programs, or networking at the career fair) each of these activities requires, at minimum, a college level resume. This workshop will involve reviewing resumes basics, discussing ways to move from a high school to an undergraduate resume, and identifying strategies for promoting yourself in the way you want to be seen by an employer.     Resume Review Night

    Join us for Resume Review Night! You will have the opportunity to meet with employers /alumni from a variety of industries on an individual basis for 7-10 minutes to have your resume or LinkedIn profile reviewed. Their feedback and expertise will help you to better market yourselves as you prepare for the Fall 2025 recruiting season. This event is for ALL Undergraduate students Why you should attend: Resume review Night gives you the opportunity to polish your personal brand and to grow your network. Strong resumes and LinkedIn Profiles are a critical part of communicating your personal brand to employers. Dress Code: Recommended Attire: Smart casual attire. Please leave your jeans, hoodies, t-shirts, etc. at home. What to Bring: You should bring multiple hard copies of your resume and your computer/ipad to take notes and review your LinkedIn Profile How you can prepare: Check out Resume resources and LinkedIn resources on Handshake to get started with your resume. Update your resume and profile with internships & activities from this summer or summer classes. Skills you will develop: Stronger oral & written communication skills to support your personal branding and networking; improved career management skills including the ability to respond appropriately to positive or negative feedback; better understanding of the impact of non-verbal communication on your professional work image.     Prepare for Early Fall Recruiting Events

    Join Career Advisers Lee Goldstein and Hao He as they tell you everything you need to know about the in-person Fall 2025 Early Recruiting Events this September. Who should attend? All students interested in meeting with recruiters this semester. Why should you attend? This is a great opportunity to ask all your logistical questions about how the in-person programs will be run and what to expect at these events. What is the dress code? Casual What is the format? Interactive presentation with time to ask questions during and after the session. What should I bring? Please bring a notebook/tablet and pen/stylus to take notes during the discussion. How can I prepare? Please come to this event prepared to take notes. What skills will I develop? You will increase your professional development preparedness skills. Is registration required? Registration is recommended. The expectation is that you attend the event from 1-1:45pm. If you cannot attend the entire event, please contact CCD to let us know if you will be late or need to leave early.
