    Gutenberg Research Financial Modeling Bootcamp - 3/3

    The Gutenberg Research Financial Modeling Bootcamp offers an exciting real-world, real-time financial modeling experience. Participants will build a three-statement model for a public company (Starbucks Corp) ahead of the next quarterly earnings release. Then, on the night of the filing, the class will meet to review the results as a group, in real time.The program includes:One-day bootcamp class hosted in the Cutler Center Finance LabPrinted copies of the textbooksModel review and feedbackOptional model publishingAdditional access includes: Web-based Training Hub & pre-recorded class videosVirtual office hours sessionVirtual Starbucks earnings review meeting Virtual Federal Reserve FOMC policy statement review meeting Access to the program examA detailed overview of the program, format, and curriculum can be accessed HERE.Prerequisites: This full-day workshop is open to Babson undergraduate and graduate students. Ideally, students should have completed introductory-level accounting, finance, and economics courses before the workshop. This recommendation is to ensure a good experience, given the accelerated nature of the program.Space is limited. Registration is limited and requires a $20 refundable deposit that will be returned upon successful completion of the workshop. By registering for this workshop, students must be able to commit to the full program timeframe (8:30 am-6:30 pm). No exceptions.About the instructor: John Moschella has spent the last 15 years analyzing companies in various capacities. After earning a BSBA in Finance, MS in Accounting and MBA from Northeastern University, he began his professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York as an Assurance Associate in the Financial Services practice. At PwC, he participated in a rotational assignment within the Financial Service Research Institute studying the bank mergers of the 2008 financial crisis, drawing on his previous experience as a bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).After PwC, he spent five years at UBS where he worked first as a Capital Specialist, and then as an Equity Research Associate. In his research role, he built and maintained earnings models, contributed to research reports, and participated in client conferences, covering the Semiconductor and Semiconductor Capital Equipment Industries. He then moved to General Electric Capital Corp in 2014 as a Risk Analyst where he built regression models to predict asset losses based on various macroeconomic scenarios. After the sale of most of GE Capital's assets, he started a consulting firm that provides capital planning support to banks and accounting services to smaller clients, in addition to running Gutenberg Research, a financial modeling community.
