Family and Friends

Commencement is a special and memorable day for graduates, as well as for their family and friends. 

Babson College is working hard to ensure this day is meaningful, fun and safe for all involved.

Babson College is located in Wellesley, Massachusetts and its main address is 213 Forest Street, Babson Park, MA. 02457.

Please keep in mind that the address will get you to the campus, but there will be signage for where to park once you arrive.

The campus is approximately 14 miles west of Boston. If you drive, allow ample time to reach the campus. Travel on campus may be slow because of heavy traffic.

Please do not block access roads around the residence halls, as seniors will be vacating the residence halls immediately following the ceremony.

Please flag down a golf cart in the parking lot if you need assistance.

Uber/Lyft/Car Service drop off point will be in lower Knight Parking Lot. To ensure accurate drop-off, please use either 'Babson College - Knight Lot' or 'Babson College - Knight Auditorium' for your destination.

Babson has a list of preferred hotels in the nearby area and it is curated and managed through Campus Travel Management (CTM). If there are any issues with the booking or reservation, CTM offers free customer service.

Those interested in booking a hotel room with a preferred rate for their visit to Babson College should click on this link to start the process. 

On Commencement day, all parking areas except for the reserved parking around the Webster Center will be available to guests. While at first glance, Babson may appear to have more than adequate parking, we assure you that every lot is full on Commencement day. Some parking areas are a 10- to 15-minute walk to the ceremony site; therefore, we recommend that guests arrive early.

Parking for the Undergraduate Ceremony will be located in the following lots:

  • We recommend entering the campus at the Forest Street entrance
  • Coleman, Trim, and Hollister Parking Lots
    • Accessible drop-off area is available next to the tent in the Coleman Circle
    • All vehicles will drop off the guest and then proceed to an open parking lot.
    • Handicap Parking is available in Coleman and the Upper Parking Garage. 

Parking for the Graduate Ceremony will be located in the following lots: 

  • We recommend entering the campus at the West Entrance off Wellesley Ave.
  • Knight, Bryant and Woodside Parking Lots
  • Accessible drop off area is available next to the tent in the Coleman Circle
  • All vehicles will drop off the guest and then proceed to an open parking lot
  • Handicap Parking is available in Coleman Parking Lot and the Upper Parking Garage.

Commencement Locations Map »

Professional photographers will take pictures of each graduate: first, when the graduate crosses the stage; and then, as the graduate leaves the stage with diploma in hand. We ask guests to remain in their seats.

Within approximately two weeks after Commencement, you will receive photo proofs and an order form from Grad Images. If you do not receive these items, please call the company directly at 800-261-2576 or visit them online at www.gradimages.com.

Video: A professionally produced video of the undergraduate Commencement ceremony will be made available as a free download from the Babson Commencement webpage within a week following commencement.

Undergraduate Ceremony

Procession is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. from Webster Center on campus
Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and to conclude at 12:30 p.m.

 

Graduate Ceremony

Procession is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. from Webster Center on campus.
Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and to conclude at 5:30 p.m.

Guest Restrooms

  • There will be portable bathrooms available near and around the Commencement tent. If you are not near the commencement tent, please find out Commencement Day volunteer to help you. 
  • The restrooms in the Webster Center will also be available for family and guests.

Water Stations

  • There will be numerous water stations located in and around the Commencement tent, as well as locations around campus. 

On-Campus Transportation

  • Guests will have access to on-campus transportation thanks to volunteer golf cart operators who can assist family and friends of graduates get to various locations around campus during Commencement Day.

Babson College uses several different methods of notification to alert students, faculty, staff, and visitors/others in an emergency and we recommend you register below during your time on campus.

These include:

  • Text, phone, and email alerts through the emergency alert system (RAVE Mobile Safety)
  • Posting information on the Babson homepage and the Emergency Preparedness webpage
  • Babson official social media platforms

In case of an emergency, these systems will provide information about the nature of the emergency, what to do and where to get additional details. Emergency updates and further information will be provided by posting to the listed websites, emails to the Babson College community and other methods as needed. It is recommended that persons not call 911 or Babson College Public Safety unless truly an emergency (Police, Fire, Ambulance.)

Please register for RAVE Mobile Safety prior to Commencement Day.

Babson College is committed to providing accommodations for individuals with visual, hearing, and/or orthopedic/mobility-related impairments.

  • For individuals with an orthopedic/mobility-related impairment, special drop-off locations with golf-cart transportation to the tent are located on the Coleman Hall side of the Upper Athletic Fields and near the Webster Center.
  • Seating is available to accommodate any guest with a mobility-assistance device. Please call the Campus & Community Events office at 781-239-5265 to make arrangements.
  • For individuals with a hearing impairment, assistive listening devices (Nady ALD-800) will be provided upon request. Please call the Campus & Community Events office at 781-239-5265 to request a device, to ask questions regarding any other accessibility issues, or to request an accommodation not listed.

Children are welcome to attend the ceremony; however, due to safety precautions, graduates are not permitted to carry, or be accompanied by, children onstage.

We ask that you leave pets at home. With the exception of visual assistance dogs, no pets of any kind are allowed in the Commencement tent.

Babson hosts, identified by their volunteer name tags, will be stationed throughout the campus on Commencement day to provide assistance.

Medical services will be available at the first-aid vehicle, located on the field.

To further contribute to a safe and efficient environment for your graduates, guests, and faculty, we are strongly encouraging customers to take advantage of our online flower pre-order service. We will have a contact-free customer experience for guests who are simply picking up their pre-purchased and reserved product. This will also increase overall physical distancing measures.

Restrooms are located on both floors of the Webster Center and in the residence halls adjacent to the field. In addition, there will be portable facilities close to the Commencement tent area. Facilities are handicap accessible.

Lost and found articles will be held by the Office of Public Safety at 781-239-5555.

The following items are prohibited at Commencement:

  • Unmanned or remote-controlled aircraft systems
  • Any type of portable chair or seat, other than those approved for persons with accessibility issues
  • Laptop bags, backpacks, duffel bags, suitcases, large purses, and any other type of large carry item
  • Any alcoholic beverages
  • Weapons of any kind [including knives]
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Coolers or containers, including cans and bottles
  • Fireworks or pyrotechnics
  • Animals, except service animals assisting those with disabilities
  • Folding and/or standalone chairs
  • Noisemakers, bullhorns, or air horns
  • Balloons or beach balls
  • Hoverboards
