Visitor and Supplier Protocol Fall 2020
The College will limit all nonessential visitors and business on all campus property in order to mitigate the exposure to our community. All visitors and suppliers are required to register DAILY through the online form or at Public Safety before accessing or visiting any campus property. The Babson College host or point of contact is responsible for sending the visitor/ contractor/ supplier, to the self-registration and asking the visitor/contractor/supplier, to complete and submit the registration prior to arrival to campus each day such person comes to campus. This required registration process will provide information about our protocol, including our expectations for visitors; screen visitors; and gather contact information.
Scheduling appointments when engaging with others is strongly encouraged, and only urgent interactions should occur without previous planning. Limiting face-to-face interactions with Babson community members is advised, in addition to external visitors.

Each department at the College has established a visitor protocol, and we ask that visitors familiarize themselves with this prior to visiting campus. This protocol also applies to contracted speakers, artists, academic and official visiting delegations, and approved guests.
Students are highly encouraged to limit non-Babson visitors to campus; if and when the presence of a guest is necessary, guests and student hosts are expected to limit their time in campus buildings and instead, utilize outdoor gathering spaces or communal gathering areas in public buildings on campus. Any individual who is not a member of the Babson community (including family and friends of students) is expected to register with Public Safety prior to their arrival and check in at Public Safety once on campus as well as to comply with campus safety policies. Public Safety will then notify the student of their visitor and a designated location to meet the visitor.
Outside of regulated move-in and move-out periods, residential students are not permitted to host any guest in the residence hall. Vendors who are offering services to students, such as laundry and food delivery, are not permitted inside the residence halls.
Babson College is taking proactive measures to ensure that our contractors, vendors, and suppliers (“third parties”) work with us to mitigate the risk of introduction or spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. All contractors, vendors, and suppliers of materials who are working on campus must comply with the mandatory safety standards and recommended best practices of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition, contractors, vendors, and suppliers are expected to be in compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and health and safety recommendations from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All third parties are required to follow instructions provided by the respective Babson College project manager, contract administrator, or staff member regarding policies while working on our campus, especially under the current emergency conditions.
It is expected that all rental and business clients follow the required visitor and supplier protocols and are required to register DAILY through the online form or at Public Safety before accessing or visiting any campus property.
Health and Safety Protocols
Together with everyday preventive actions, these protocols are additional steps to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our community safe. The following mandatory safety protocols (which may change or shift according to health, safety, or government guidance) must be followed by all Babson College students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and visitors and suppliers to campus:
Babson is requiring all visitors/suppliers to wear face coverings at ALL TIMES and in accordance with CDC guidelines in all facilities and shared spaces on Babson College campuses, including outdoor spaces and while traveling across campus. This includes offices, classrooms, common areas, dining halls, and any other facility where physical distancing is difficult to maintain. This policy shall apply to all property owned or controlled by the College and shall remain in effect until further written notice. This policy may be modified from time to time as determined by the College to be appropriate in accordance with evolving circumstances and public health standards.
Physical distancing is one of the essential behaviors required to mitigate the risk of infection and spread of the virus. In any public setting on campus, Babson community members and visitors and suppliers must maintain at least 6 feet of distance so as not to allow possible contact if an infected person were to cough or sneeze.
Visitors who feel sick or who experience any symptoms of COVID-19 cannot come to the campus and must contact their host to reschedule the visit to campus. Visitors must be 24 hours free of ANY symptoms potentially related to COVID-19 in order to be permitted on the Babson campus.
Symptons of COVID-19 include:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills – repeated shaking with chills
- Runny nose or new sinus congestion
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New GI symptoms
