100 High Street building doubles size of Babson's Boston footprint

Babson College, the recognized world leader in entrepre­neurship education, is expanding its presence in Boston with th​​e s​igning of a new lease agreement for 9,000 square feet of Class A space at 100 High Street. The 100 High Street building, located in the heart of Boston’s Financial District, doubles the size of Babson’s footprint in Boston and complements Babson’s educational offerings at its Wellesley, Massachusetts and San Francisco, California campuses.

“Nearly half of all Babson alumni – approximately 16,000 graduates – live or work in Greater Boston, and the eight largest employers of Babson graduates are Boston-based companies,” said Babson College President Kerry Healey. “By more than doubling the size of our Boston space and moving to this more modern and accessible location, we can both attract and educate Graduate students where they work and offer our alumni a convenient and innovative convening space for networking, co-working and much more.”

Babson’s new High Street campus will primarily serve Babson’s top ranked F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, connecting Babson’s Graduate students to Boston companies, organizations, and business leaders.

“Our new High Street location will make it possible for part-time MBA students to complete their entire degree in Downtown Boston,” said William Lamb, Murata Dean of the Babson’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. “We look forward to expanding our high-quality Graduate program offerings through this larger, amenity-rich location.”

Babson anticipates moving from its current location at 253 Summer Street and officially opening the new Boston site before fall 2016. The new High Street campus will include approximately 7,000 square feet of classroom, meeting rooms, and lounge space on the 12th floor.

The new campus location also features approximately 2,000 square feet of ground floor space along Federal Street, which will provide a window into entrepre­neurship in action with events, co-working space, and space to showcase the entrepre­​neurial activities of Babson students and alumni.

The 100 High Street building is centrally located and faces both High Street and Federal Street, which is the drop-off location for multiple MBTA commuter bus lines and less than a five-minute walk to several T stops on the Red, Orange, and Green lines. Owned by CBRE Global Investors, the 28-story building was renovated in 2015 and features a multi-use tenant lounge with hi-tech conference rooms, free Wi-Fi, coffee bar, and a rooftop deck with city views.

The lease, a 10-year agreement, was brokered by John Boyle and Rebecca Galeota of Cushman & Wakefield who represented the tenant, Babson College, and CBRE New England who represented the landlord.
